Muncheese Packaging
Muncheese went through many rounds of concepts and redesigns. We worked hand-in-hand with Costco warehouse stores purchasing experts to come up with a design they thought would resonate best with their customers.
I wrote all of the copy and took the product photography.

March 13, 2014 These are the very first concepts I produced for this product. This is before we even had a name for it yet. I came up with the name “Muncheese” because we needed to call it something. The name stuck!
March 17, 2014 A new executive wanted to try another direction. They liked the look of the “Pop Chips” brand packaging and asked for something more along those lines. They also wanted to try out the name “It’s Just Cheese” for our product.
March 18, 2014 We decided we didn’t like the “Pop Chips” look after all and wanted something more “open” and “vibrant.” Something more “playful” and “childish” as we wanted to product to appeal to moms and kids.
March 19, 2014 We partnered with a company in Holland that was successfully marketing a version of this product. I was asked to recreate their packaging for American standards. We also decided to keep the Muncheese name. This design stuck for a few months.
May 21, 2014 The Muncheese packaging went through several overhauls, multiple times per day. We were meeting with Costco buyers at the time and kept adjusting the branding to meet their tastes. We tried many different typefaces as we were deciding if the brand should be more “luxurious” or “kid-friendly.” After much deliberation we ended up going with the more “Kraft” style design.
